Berlin-Tokyo/Tokyo-Berlin. The Art of Two Cities

An exhibition of the Nationalgalerie of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin and the Mori Art Museum Tokyo, in co-operation with the Deutsche Kinemathek - Museum for Film and Television. Made possible through the foundation of the Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin, the Hauptstadtkulturfonds and Deutsche Bank. * Copa da Cultura: Brasilien in Deutschland / Deutschland in Brasilien

In keiner anderen Kultur ist Fußball so in die Musik, den Tanz, die Bildende Kunst und die Literatur eingegangen, wie in der Brasiliens.
Unter dem Titel ''Copa da Cultura: Brasilien in Deutschland'' wird die Weltmeisterschaft zum Kulminationspunkt eines ganzjährigen Kulturprogramms, das in Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem brasilianischen Kulturministerium und dem Haus der Kulturen der Welt entwickelt wurde.
Zur Copa da Cultura gehören Programmteile, die sich auf den Fußball beziehen, ebenso wie Programme, bei denen die vitale zeit-genössische Kunstszene Brasiliens im Mittelpunkt steht. 2006 findet in Berlin und weiteren deutschen Städten eine Reihe von Veranstaltungen in verschiedenen Partnerinstitutionen statt. Als der zentrale Ort des Projekts wird das Haus der Kulturen der Welt vom 25. Mai bis 9. Juli 2006 zeitge

From May 18 to May 21, 2006 Berlin will host the fourth international DESIGNMAI
festival. Once again, the city will be transformed into the focus of the
international design scene with its many events providing an insight into current
design trends. For 2006, we have a special concept in mind for the festival: most
events will be held on the roughly 9,000 sq m of the former Gleisdreieck railway
station that served the track to Dresden. DESIGNMAI 2006 will concentrate
particularly on the interface between design, architec

::Monuments of German Design
The Kölln rolled-oat package on your breakfast table, the Nivea tin in the bathroom, Tempo paper tissues in your handbag, Faber Castell pencils and Leitz files in the office and a Bosch drill in your toolbox - many of these products have been part of everyday life in Germany for decades. Their unmistakable outward appearance makes them minor ''monuments'' of everyday German culture. Many of these products and designs are familiar to many people beyond Germany's borders.
In April 2003, the Süddeutsche Zeitung's colour supplement compiled a selection of such ''monuments'' of German design. The magazine presented these classic designs in a series of photographs, coupled with short, tongue-in-cheek comments providing background information on the individual products. In cooperation with the Goethe-Institut, these have been made into a small online photo

::High-Tech Gründerfonds der ''Partner für Innovation'' gestartet
Berlin, 29. August 2005. Bundeswirtschafts- und -arbeitsminister Wolfgang Clement hat heute in Berlin zusammen mit dem stellvertretenden Vorstandsvorsitzenden der BASF, Eggert Voscherau, und dem Sprecher des Vorstandes der KfW-Bankengruppe, Hans W. Reich, den offiziellen Startschuss für den High-Tech Gründerfonds gegeben. Technologieorientierte Gründer können ab sofort eine Finanzierung aus dem Fonds beantragen.

Der High-Tech Gründerfonds ist ein gemeinsames Projekt der Bundesregierung, der Unternehmen BASF, Deutsche Telekom und Siemens sowie der KfW-Bankengruppe im Rahmen der Initiative „Partner für Innovation“. Insgesamt stehen in den nächsten fünf Jahren 262 Mio. Euro zur Verfügung, davon allein 240 Mio. Euro aus dem Bundeshaushalt.
