The Little Theatre Movement (LTM) has the distinction of being Jamaica's longest surviving theatre company of contemporary times. One of the first LTM undertakings was the launching of the tradition now known as the National Pantomime. The first production, in 1941, ''Jack and the Beanstalk'', a tale of childhood was adapted for the stage with elements of music, song, dance, comedy, drama and colourful costumes and sets. (More)

This fun-filled event is an entertaining social commentary on current affairs. The LTM National Pantomime 2005/06 Zu-Zu Macca, closed on May 7 with the 103rd performance. Over 40,000 persons saw the show. Next on the agenda is auditions for the 2006/07 production and preparations for the summer season. Information

His hands rest lightly on the massive shoulders of his sculpture Johanaan. The great head, carved from elm, stares forward as if into remote space. In a striking photograph of 1963, Val Wilmer pictured the sculptor Ronald Moody in his studio in Fulham with this work which he had made almost thirty years earlier. It is now forty years since Wilmer's picture was taken, and Johanaan is finally on show as the centre piece of a display of Moody's wood-carvings at Tate Britain.
Moody was born in 1900 in Kingston into a well-off professional family, and he lived there until he was 23. Bowing to his family's conventional outlook, Moody opted to study dentistry in London and b

::''The power of language in images'' Photografic competition
THE MISSION
The competition invites interested photographers to capture the “power of language” in a photo – completely without words. As can no other medium, photography can pointedly and grippingly illustrate the effect of language. We are looking for images that show how language shapes relations among people and the relation of people to their surroundings, the self-understanding of the individual and of whole groups. The description of the mission has been deliberately kept fairly open. We are interested in your personal, pictorial interpretation of the “power of language”.

DIE PREISE - The awards are as follows:
1st PRIZE: 1,000 EURO (including a trip to Berlin)
2nd PRIZE: 700 EURO
3rd PRIZE: 500 EURO
